BRENDON T Moylan has been with Curtin FM 100.1 for
almost ten years, originally as an assistant on the Country Breakfast
show and now as the presenter of 'Born In Boots', a dedicated country
music program heard every Saturday afternoon between 12 noon and 6pm. Brendon, his wife Janiece and their two sons Adam and Jason arrived in
Perth 19 years ago and Brendon began a career in real estate working in
the Victoria Park area, later opening an office in Forrestfield. Then in
1994 life changed dramatically when Brendon was seriously injured in a
freak accident which necessitated a number of back operations that left
Brendon with very little movement or feeling in both his legs. He would
spend many months in a wheelchair and recuperating in Shenton Park
Hospital where he had to be taught how to walk again.
Naturally his business suffered but it did allow Brendon
a lot of time to think and he quickly came to the realisation that one's
life can change in an instant, so he decided it was time to follow a
dream he had harboured for many, many years to get involved in radio.
Hence when the opportunity to assist on the Breakfast program at 6NR
came up, Brendon could not get to Curtin Radio quick enough. Not long
after completing the 'on air' course at Curtin, Brendon was offered the
position of hosting the Saturday morning program Born In Boots, a show
that had been established for our country music listeners after the
demise of A Country Breakfast.
For as long as he can
remember Brendon has had a strong passion for country music and when
Janiece became involved in the program some six months later, the dream
was complete. Today Janiece helps Brendon produce his show, and is the
friendly voice heard when listeners call in during the program. Now into
its eighth year, Born In Boots is Perth's most popular local country
music program and is respected throughout the country music industry
right across Australia.
